With her alluring lyrics and hazy but edgy, vocal tones, KARLOU combines indie-pop artist’s influences of Girl in Red and MAY-A. The project, KARLOU, came to life in 2019 when the first single, ‘Bad Choices’ was released. Since then, the Sunshine Coast songstress has indulged herself in sweet nostalgic pop hooks and weaving sonic melodies, working with Brisbane producer, Tom Eggert on her latest track, ‘Lovesick’.
Although 2020 seemed to be a slow burner of a year, KARLOU followed through with the release of ‘Closer’ which premiered on Triple J Unearthed and received airplay on respected Australian Radio stations, including Triple J. With the release of ‘Closer’, KARLOU hosted a launch show which tickets SOLD OUT in two days.
Whilst in the studio, working on new music this year, KARLOU has focused on the live element, playing shows throughout Queensland and supporting bands such as, The Rubens, Sycco and most recently Hope D. KARLOU also played at the Caloundra Music Festival this year sharing the bill with artists such as, Ball Park Music, Thelma Plum, Bootleg Rascal and many others.
KARLOU is a charismatic and dynamic performer, bringing energy on the stage through multiple instruments and audience engagement. Expressing passion and presence, KARLOU is the dynamic artist, transparently sharing her high and low moments in her personal journey, on stage.
