about

In a world of blissed out indie-pop is where you’ll find KARLOU, weaving pop melodies into addictive soundscapes. Brought up in North Queensland, KARLOU’s musical journey started to take shape when they landed in the Sunshine Coast in 2019. Since then, they have gone on to play at major festivals such as Groovin The Moo, Woodford Folk Fest and Caloundra Music Festival.

When performing, KARLOU expresses a charismatic and personable charm that resonates with audiences. With the release of their debut EP, ‘sorry to my friends’ earlier this year, KARLOU took on their first national tour, playing shows in Sydney, Wollongong, Brisbane and Melbourne. Drawing influence from artists like MAY-A, Chelsea Cutler and Ruel, KARLOU’s own distinct style has gone on to support the likes of The Rubens, Sycco, Hope D, Mia Wray and most recently The Vanns and Sons of The East.

Previous singles off the ‘sorry to my friends’ EP premiered on Triple J Unearthed and got played on Triple J’s Home and Hosed with Ash McGregor. Many of the singles also got added to Spotify Editorial Playlists: Fresh Finds and AU/NZ Pop Fresh Finds and Apple Music’s New in Pop, New Music Daily and Wildflower playlists.

2023 was a whirlwind for KARLOU with many highs and exciting achievements. With the tour wrapped up, they are returning back to the studio to work on the next creative process with new plans in the pipeline for 2024.
